Finding some sort of forum to discuss with others is very helpful. I didn't go to an adult support group but found that when I shared just a little with others, the floodgates opened up. I felt that this was something rare and that others would have a hard time understanding. Some do, but many, many others quickly opened up about their similar kid challenges. I quickly realized that I was not alone and many others are dealing with very similar issues.

So that may not directly answer your question but hopefully let's you know that (1) you are not alone in the battle and (2) you would be surprised how many people are facing the same thing and (3) it is helpful to share with others.

Although I found it hard at times due to frustration, I kept telling my challenged kid that I love them. That really helped. They will never forget that when they get past their challenge.
